OUR ENGINE
The
turbo is a Garret off a diesel truck,
usually used in the Ranger 2,5 Turbo D or Sprinter. It is too old to be used in
a truck, but it's good enough for our TURBINE.
How does a engine works:
The compressor (a
propeler-likecomponent) is used to increase the air pressure in the engine(1).
Air and gas(inlet 4) are mixed and burned in the combustion chamber producing a
high temperature flow. The the hot air stream runs by the the turbine(2) to the
exhaust pipe. The turbine extracts the energy from the hot air to turn the
compressor since they both are conected by the same shaft(3). That's what make
the feed-back needed for the engine work. That makes a full cycle where the
compressor pushes air to the turbine when turned, and the turbine turns the
compressor. That keeps on going as long as the fuel is burning in the combustion
chamber.
The Truck Turbocharger:

In the truck the exhausting air enters directely in the hot part of the
turbo(red) turning the turbine 2, and therefore the compressor 1 (blue).
The compressor pushes air at high pressure to the motor inlet. The bigger
amount of air injected along with the fuel increases the power of
the truck.
